Disneyland Park Hopper 3-Day Itinerary for Families (2026)
Three Park Hopper days is the most flexible trip you can plan. Day 1 marquee. Day 2 deep cuts. Day 3 is the kid's pick — character breakfast, re-rides, and the castle fireworks finale.
Day 1 Park Hopper — Lightning Lane, Nap Break, Relaxed Pace
Day 1 of a multi-day hopper trip: start DCA for Radiator Springs Racers, hop to Disneyland for marquee Fantasyland rides, end with fireworks. Save second-tier rides for Day 2.
Park 45 minutes early. Day 1 hits the must-do's — RSR, Soarin', Peter Pan, Mickey & Minnie's. Day 2 picks up Toy Story Midway Mania, deep-cut Fantasyland, and the rides you didn't have time for.
Same play as the 1-day hopper. 15-min standby at 8:00. Single Rider if your party is okay splitting.
First LL is Soarin' — universal family ride and the obvious second pick after RSR.
Two Cars Land spinners while you're here. Day 2 won't come back to Cars Land in the morning.
Re-book Monsters, Inc. the moment you tap in.
Bridges to lunch. Saves Toy Story Midway Mania for Day 2 since you have two days.
Walk-on Mermaid. Hollywood Land animation workshops if you want a 20-min break (runs every 30 min).
Closing in 2027 — ride it.
No 11 AM gate on second-park LLs since June 2026 — book Peter Pan for 12:30 to line up with your walk-over.
San Fransokyo birria tacos or Cocina Cucamonga. Eat at DCA — Disneyland lunch is more crowded at noon.
Esplanade walk. 8 minutes if you move.
First DL ride. Re-book Mickey & Minnie's for 3:30 (post-nap window).
Sets up the post-nap ride.
Out by 1:15. Day 1 hopper nap matters — tomorrow you do this again.
Re-book Big Thunder if your kid is 40"+, else Haunted Mansion.
Two more Day 1 rides. Save Snow White, Pinocchio, Mr. Toad, Storybook Land for Day 2.
Mobile-order at 5:15. Skewers + Adventureland music.
Day 1 of multi-day = full castle projection show. Curb on Main Street 25 min before. Save the Galaxy's Edge view for Day 2.
Day 2 of 3 — Park Hopper
This combination doesn't have a template yet. Try switching the park, Lightning Lane, or pace toggle.
Last Day Park Hopper — Lightning Lane, Nap Break, Relaxed Pace
Final hopper day: re-rides + anything missed + closing show. Less marquee pressure, more 'what does the family want to do.' End with fireworks from Galaxy's Edge if it's calmer, Main Street if you want the castle finale.
Last hopper day = re-ride day. What did your family love most? Build the day around two or three favorites. If RSR was the hit, start at DCA again. If it's Peter Pan and Mickey & Minnie's, start at Disneyland.
Wherever they want. If split votes, the rope-drop math favors DCA for RSR (saves the most time). Disneyland for Peter Pan if it's the universal favorite.
Whatever they want most. Last-day first LL is theirs.
No schedule on Day 3. Let them lead. Carrousel three times, sure. Mater's for the fifth time, sure. Day 3 is the trip they remember.
Re-book another LL the moment you tap in.
Mickey & Minnie's if Disneyland-started. Toy Story Midway Mania if DCA-started.
Toontown Mickey if at Disneyland, Avengers Campus character roams if at DCA. One last photo before the trip ends.
Hop window opens at 11. Book a LL in the park you're going to hop to for ~1:30.
Then walk to lunch.
Carnation Café (DL) or San Fransokyo (DCA). Real meal, relaxed pace.
Esplanade walk.
Out by 12:45. Pack the hotel during nap if checkout is tomorrow.
Haunted Mansion, Tiana's, or whatever you booked from the morning.
Whatever they ask for. Standby drops in the 4–6 PM window.
Ronto Wraps (Galaxy's Edge) if you're ending at Disneyland. Lamplight Lounge (Pixar Pier) if you're ending at DCA and have the reservation.
Main Street if you want the castle projection finale. Galaxy's Edge if you want the easy exit with a stroller. Either way, last night of the trip.
Read Lightning Lane + Park Hopper rules before booking, cross-check rides with the age-by-age Disneyland rides guide, mobile-order from the Disneyland food spots worth your money, and pack via the Disneyland packing list for kids.
Frequently Asked Questions
The questions families ask us most about a three-day Park Hopper plan.
Is a 3-day Park Hopper worth it?
Three Park Hopper days is the most flexible Disneyland resort trip you can do — you can chase whatever the kids want on any given day. Day 1 hits marquee headliners across both parks. Day 2 picks up second-tier rides and deep cuts. Day 3 is the kid's pick: re-rides, character breakfast, fireworks finale.
How do you book Lightning Lanes across both parks on a Park Hopper day?
As of June 9, 2026 you can book a Lightning Lane in your second park as soon as you scan into your first — the old "first return window must be 11:00 AM or later" gate is gone. Always Modify, never Cancel — Cancel resets your 2-hour clock from scratch.
Which park do you start at each day on a 3-day Park Hopper?
Start DCA on Day 1 for Radiator Springs Racers (saves $60–120). Day 2 starts at Disneyland for Fantasyland rope drop. Day 3 is the kid's pick — whatever they loved most.
Should you do character breakfast on a 3-day Park Hopper trip?
Plaza Inn character breakfast (8:00 AM seating) is the perfect Day 3 anchor — Minnie + rotating Disney friends visit the table for 4–5 character meets without separate lines. Book 60 days out via the Disneyland app. It replaces rope drop on Day 3 and gives you a relaxed closing day.
How do you split the nighttime shows across three Park Hopper nights?
Day 1: World of Color at DCA. Day 2: Disneyland fireworks from Main Street for the full castle projection show. Day 3: Disneyland fireworks from Galaxy's Edge — same fireworks with John Williams music, way easier exit with tired kids.
