2027 Disneyland vacation packages opened for booking August 25. Full vacation packages and hotel-only bookings are now live for arrivals January 1 through December 31, 2027. - Santa moves to Mickey's Toontown Trolley Barn (near Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin), November 13 through December 24. New location, less-traveled area, which for families with young kids usually means shorter lines. This is a legitimate improvement over last year's Santa's Reindeer Round-Up setup.

Silly Symphony Swings finally reopened August 28. After being closed since April 27 — nearly 4 months — the classic DCA swings are back. Not trip-changing, but if your kid loves swings and you'd rearranged plans around this closure, you're clear.
Kids' Summer Tickets expire September 7 — one week left. Kids 3-9 visit for as low as $50/day. This deal will not return until next summer. If you have any window between now and September 7, book this week.

🎃 Halloween Time — One Week In
Halloween Time has been running a week now. Early reports from the last week: Plaza de la Familia at DCA is landing exactly as hoped for families with young kids — Miguel meet-and-greets have been easy walkups on weekdays, Coco music sets are running in Paradise Gardens Park throughout the afternoon. Halloween Screams fireworks runs Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only during Halloween Time — if you're visiting mid-week, plan on a projection-only version without fireworks.
The Nightmare Before Christmas Collection is officially in wide release across Disney Store and the parks. Popcorn buckets are already going in and out of stock. If you specifically want a 2026 seasonal bucket, buy on your first day.
🍿 Food Worth Knowing
Halloween Time seasonal food across 150+ items continues to run through October 31. Little Red Wagon corn dogs with the seasonal churro variants remain the highest-quality kid-friendly seasonal pick. Alien Pizza Planet is the reliable young-kid lunch option in Tomorrowland.
Reminder: Minnie & Friends Breakfast at Plaza Inn is still closed through late September. Substitutes: Goofy's Kitchen at Disneyland Hotel (Halloween-themed through October 31), or wait for the new holiday character dining options that open November 13.
Bopo Go! at Downtown Disney: still not open.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure opens at Disneyland November 15 — timed with the start of Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. 40-inch height requirement. For families with kids 4-7 who loved Splash Mountain, the theming is warmer and less intense.
