Three stories matter this week. The much-anticipated October 7 ticket price hike landed on October 6 and was significantly smaller than Disney's past two years of increases (good news for families), Get Away Today still has old pricing available through October 19 (real last-chance window), and Halloween Time now has 17 days left before Holidays at the Disneyland Resort takes over. Also worth calling out: for 3 weeks straight I framed this hike as a major event. It wasn't. Here's what actually changed and what still matters.
๐จ Trip-Planning Impact
The October 6 ticket hike was smaller than expected. For 3 weeks I kept framing this as a "lock in prices now or pay significantly more" story. The reality is more measured. The lowest-tier single-day ticket is still $104 (unchanged since 2019). The highest-tier single-day ticket is still $224 (unchanged from last year). Middle-tier single-day tickets went up by $5. Multi-day tickets did not change at all. Two-day 1-park remains $335. Five-day 1-park remains $520. The Park Hopper add-on went up (a 5-day Park Hopper now runs $660, which is $5 higher). Lightning Lane Multi Pass pre-arrival pricing went up $1 (3% from $34 to $35). Magic Key prices stayed flat, though there's a new Explore Key tier at $999 and the Enchant Key tier was discontinued.
If you booked tickets in the past 3 weeks on my advice, you did not overpay by much. If you were planning to book this month and felt rushed, you now have reasonable breathing room on single-day and multi-day tickets. The actual urgency moved to Park Hopper and Lightning Lane, where the per-day price increases add up on long trips.
Get Away Today still has pre-hike prices through October 19. This is now the actual last-chance window. Through Monday October 19, Get Away Today is honoring the pre-October-6 pricing on multi-day Disneyland tickets. For a family of four doing a 3-day or 4-day visit, this saves meaningful money on the Park Hopper add-on in particular (the old $34/day rate versus the new $38/day baseline). After October 19, Get Away Today's prices sync with Disney's new ones. If you have any 2026 or 2027 trip in mind, buy tickets this week.
2027 pricing is already higher than 2026. Disney also released late-2027 ticket pricing (October through December 2027), and the new rates are higher than this year's equivalents. There is no way to lock in 2027 pricing at 2026 rates. If you had a specific late 2027 trip in mind, book now for the dates available through 2027, but understand you're paying a modest premium.
Halloween Time has 17 days left. Last day is Friday October 31. If a Halloween Time trip is still on the table, the realistic family windows are the next 2 weekends (October 17-18, October 24-25) and the final weekday block (October 26-29). Crowds climb weekly from here with Halloween week itself (October 28-31) being the worst crowd days of the year. Oogie Boogie Bash events continue on select nights through the 31st, which means DCA closes early (typically 6 PM) to general-admission guests on event nights. Check the app for your specific dates.

๐ Halloween Time, Final 17 Days
Halloween Time wraps Friday October 31. Parents planning a last visit should know:
Plaza de la Familia at DCA runs 2 extra days past Halloween Time (through November 2). This is still the best family experience at either park right now. Miguel meet-and-greets, Coco music sets in Paradise Gardens Park, authentic food. Weekday waits remain quick.
Haunted Mansion Holiday continues through early January, so if you're planning a Holidays-season trip (November 13 onward), you still get the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. No need to scramble to catch it before Halloween Time ends.
Mickey and Friends Halloween Cavalcade and Halloween Screams fireworks (Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights) both wrap October 31. Last fireworks night is Sunday October 31.
The Pixar Place Hotel Monsters Inc. themed decor continues through the end of the month. Worth a walkthrough if you're staying on-property, particularly given the ride itself closes in 2027.
Oogie Boogie Bash ran its final general-admission tickets weeks ago. The DCA early-close nights continue through the 31st on scheduled party dates. If you booked a DCA day during an event night and didn't know, now you do.
๐ฟ Food Worth Knowing
Halloween Time food runs for 17 more days. Everything on the Halloween Time menu disappears November 1 and gets replaced with holiday offerings on November 13 (there's a roughly 12-day gap between seasons where park food is at its most generic baseline).
The new Churro Hand Tart continues to be the sleeper hit of the season.
Alien Pizza Planet, Little Red Wagon corn dogs, and Ronto Wraps at Galaxy's Edge remain the reliable year-round kid-friendly picks.
Bopo Go! at Downtown Disney: still not open. Approaching 3 months of visible construction.
Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney continues to be the top quick-service pick for picky-eater families.
๐ฐ Deals & Tickets
Buy tickets by Monday October 19 at pre-hike pricing via Get Away Today. This is the real last-call window. Prices sync with Disney's new rates after that date.
Disneyland Hotel Holiday Discount is live at up to 20% off Sunday through Thursday nights for stays October 11 through December 18. Disney Visa cardmembers get the full 20%; everyone else can still access lower published rates. Must book by December 15.
Costco $329.99 2-Day Park Hopper with Lightning Lane continues to be the best bundle deal available right now. 13-day fuse means pick either Halloween Time or Holidays, not both.
NEW Explore Key at $999 was added as a Magic Key tier. Positioned between Imagine ($599) and Enchant (discontinued). Fewer blackout dates than Imagine but still blocked on peak holidays. Worth running the math only if you're planning 4+ visits per year.
Military tickets remain available at $104 adult, $98 child for 1-day 1-park through 2027. If anyone in your family qualifies, this is the best deal available.
2027 Disneyland vacation packages are open at the new higher pricing.
8 Tier 0 days scheduled for November at $104 adult rates for anyone within driving distance.
๐ What We're Watching
Monsters Inc. 2027 closure timing still unconfirmed. Avatar land groundbreaking suggests mid-to-late 2027. If your kid loves Monsters Inc., prioritize a ride on any 2026 or early 2027 trip.
Tiana's Bayou Adventure opens November 15 (32 days out). 40-inch height requirement. Timed with the start of Holidays at Disneyland.
Holidays at Disneyland Resort runs November 13 through January 6, 2027 (30 days out). Santa moves to Mickey's Toontown Trolley Barn, new character dining options at Storytellers Cafรฉ, Haunted Mansion Holiday 25th anniversary gingerbread music box.
Indiana Jones Adventure is listed as "return TBD." No update on when it comes back into regular rotation. If this ride was on your kid's list for a late-2026 trip, plan without it.
Coco ride construction at DCA continues. Opening speculation now points to 2028 or 2029.
Anzellan droidsmiths at Droid Depot still pending install. No date.
Disney cost-cutting continues across the parks (1,000 confirmed job cuts). Expect operational and entertainment belt-tightening to continue through the holidays.
